Oopsie

It seems I have been a slacker when it comes to keeping this blog updated, but here is what has been happening recently!

My first attemp at a western saddle... Well, the tree I made ended up being way too small, but I know what to expect so next time I can do a better job. Sam, Lauren, & I were also discussing casting some trees.

Lots and lots of tack making these past two weekends that I got to spend with Sam and Lauren.

I got to go to the Tandy Leather Company for the first time ever; Lauren, Sam, and I all purchased about the same things: dye, dobbers, and leather. Ha!

Recently finished halter that is for sale on MH$P(http://www.modelhorsesalespages.com/vendors/view_details.asp)

Sam and Lauren have also been working on a few things:

(Above: both Lauren's)

And here are a few things I have been working on:

Raised noseband and brow band(not pictured).

Half pad

Leather halters

And just a few etchies I've been messing around with

My mom finished these as well for me:) yay for pony packs!

Currently I have a bridle and saddle in progress and am working on my show string. If you are interested in any tack, I have available time, so just let me know!

Model horse showing!

Im so incredibly excited for my first ever model horse shows. This coming year I have the privilege of attending both CGC(Carolina Gold Classic) and Breyerfest 2014. The only model horse event I have been to is a fun day at a barn 3 hours away from me(desperate much?). It was a wonderful experience and I met my two best friends Lauren and Sam. They will be attending the CGC and BF as well. I am beginning to work on my show string because I have never had one before and I need to do quite a bit of planning, buying, selling, organizing, and who knows what else! I managed to get this done tonight:

However, it's hard to decide which models are LSQ when your not home to look at them! My family and I have been on vacation and traveling for the past week, and I can't wait to get home tomorrow. Hours in the car has led to the production of many lead ropes...

I bought this beautiful girl off of MH$P a day ago, and she should be arriving Saturday.

cannot wait to see her in person!

I just finished ordering some leather, and tomorrow I will put an order in at Rio Rondo for essentials because I am out of a lot of things, then I will be making saddles ad more advanced tack again. I'm looking forward to so many things!

I would absolutely LOVE advice from any experienced live showers! ;)

Just reminders(:

Sorry I have not posted in so many days! School has just started and the homework load is heavy. I've also been crazy busy(in a wonderful way) with this guy here:)

But here is just a little reminder of what I have readily available currently. I am working on finding the best place to post my tack, so bare with me as I get it all straightened out!

Nylon halters are available in a variety of colors, as well as braided clip on reins.

Rope halters are available too.

And don't forget about those lead ropes and hoof picks!

Bareback pads and sets are available as well.

Please contact me if you are interested or have any questions!

Last day of summer!

I was hoping to spend my last day of summer well, and I think I managed very well.
Today has been so wonderful. I got to hang out with Lauren and Sam all day, even though they are technically 3 hrs away. Thank you very much FaceTime!

First we went to the Tandy leather factory store. After that we hung out in Sam's studio and worked on tack all evening. I finally finished my new and improved bareback pad.

We all tried our hand at making braided reins ad they turned out pretty well.
(Mine above, Sam's below)

Sam has been working on this beautiful set and finished it today with the exception of a few small details:

Today has been a lot of fun:)

Not so mundane Monday

So today I tackled the task of switching my shelves.
They started off like this.
So many horses on my bed!

And ended up like this.

My studio(room too) is a total mess right now; I'm hoping to get it cleaned soon.

Tonight was filled with fun tack experimenting while on FaceTime with my friend Sam. It was a lot of fun; she worked on her first go at braided reins and I made bits for the first time ever.

I think they turned out pretty well:)

My workspace was clean, but now it's an absolute mess... Oh well!

Summer Fun at an end

Lots of updating to do! First off, I have been gone for the past month and that is why I disappeared:( I really missed making tack and being in the model horse world; Im back though and excited to try some new tack pieces:)

 Rope halters are now available:)

The two above pictures are from one of my customers; thanks for the pictures!:)

They come in many colors:

(Above) I had a great birthday spent with Lauren and Sam(my horse crazy and Breyer loving best friends) and ended up with some new supplies!

First ever KNB Studios picture contest was a huge success. Above are the three winners. Thank you all who entered. Be on the lookout for another one soon!

Racing set is still as is... I really need to get to work on the bridle.

During my summer travels I ended up in my hometown and visited the local toy store. They used to have a wide variety of Breyer horses and accessories for sale, so I was a little shocked when I got there and the shelves no longer held Breyers. I asked about it, and they said all the ones they had left would be on the clearance rack in the back. I found all of these in the picture and bargained for them paying a total of $55... Such a great find!

Horsey filled Saturday

My workspace started off clean... only because I haven't unpacked from this week yet!

.... but that didn't last long.
First came switching back to my old hardware container.....

After that came reorganizing all of my models.

And then a wish from an instagram follower for a racing saddle to fit Schleich models....
so of course I had to go find my Schleich models that I have had growing up.

And finally, I got to working on the racing set that has been in progress for 3 days now!

Ta-da! Saddle, girth, & surcingle finished!

Over all a pretty great day:)
